Postpartum Doula

 Following the anticipation of pregnancy and the work of labor comes the journey of welcoming your baby into your family and home. This journey can be filled with excitement but can also come with challenges. Having an experienced trained postpartum doula at your side can help your journey go smoothly.

All families are unique and the services provided vary from family to family and often from day to day as needs change, we maintain flexibility and adapt services to meet your family’s needs. All services are non judgmental and supportive of your parenting choices. We aim to help you develop into the parents you want to be.

Services that can be included are:

  • Help and support feeding your baby (breast or bottle)
  • New baby care including bathing, diapering, soothing, swaddling, slinging
  • Advice and support for new baby concerns including feeding, sleeping and crying
  • Understanding your new baby’s cues
  • Rest and recuperation time for mum
  • Baby care while parents take a nap, shower or spent some time together or with older children
  • Support for family relationships including date time for parents, tips for visiting relatives
  • Confidence building for parents, grandparents and other carers
  • Meal and snack preparation
  • Light housework and laundry
  • Provision of research and resources as needed

It is very important for you to meet with your postpartum doula and ensure you get on well together as those first few weeks are very precious.

We offer a complimentary 30-minute visit to meet Joanne or Michele and discuss your family’s needs.

 

Packages

Although we operate on a first come first served basis we will always do our best to help all the families who contact us. Please book as early as possible to guarantee you get the services you require as we limit the number of families we have in order to offer you the highest standard of quality and flexibility.

Surviving Bed Rest

Postpartum Doula isn’t always for after the baby, if you need help to prepare for the baby or just maintain family life while on bed rest then having a postpartum doula can make a world of difference.

This is the perfect gift for yourself or for friends and family, 10 hours of postpartum doula care, for use in first two weeks after baby arrives or those first two weeks when the family are without support.

Night Support

Available by arrangement.

Existing clients

Existing clients can add hours as they go $30 per hour or add 10 hours for $285 or 20 hours for $530. Three hour minimum visit time still applies.

Catch Up Day

Ideal for when things get a bit too much and some extra rest would be great.

8hours of postpartum doula support in one day so parents can rest while baby is looked after, laundry backlog is cleared and food is prepared.
